Privacy Policy

1. Scope and Applicability

This Privacy Policy applies to the QrMyCar application, website, and all related services provided by us.

For Individuals

In this model, individual vehicle owners purchase a QR sticker and register directly on the QrMyCar platform.

For Societies

In this model, residential societies purchase QR stickers and upload/insert resident and vehicle data. The society acts as the data controller, while QrMyCar acts as a data processor providing technical infrastructure. The society is responsible for obtaining resident consent.

For personal data provided by or on behalf of the Society for provision of QrMyCar services, the Society determines the purpose for which such data is processed, and QrMyCar shall process such data on behalf of the Society solely for providing the agreed services, in accordance with the Society's instructions and applicable data protection laws.

2. Information We Collect

For Individuals

• Vehicle Information: Vehicle number, make, model, year.
• Profile Information: Name and Email address (for Google login).
• Contact Information: Phone number (for receiving masked calls), WhatsApp number (for receiving notifications).
• Emergency Contact: Emergency contact number (optional, in case of emergency).
• Other Data: Insurance & PUC Expiry Date (optional, for reminders).

For Societies

• Information uploaded by the Society: Resident names and contact numbers, Tower, floor and unit information, Resident occupancy type (owner or tenant), Vehicle registration numbers, and Vehicle details.
• Information maintained directly by Residents: Certain information is voluntarily provided directly by residents to QrMyCar during sticker activation and is not supplied by the Society, including Email address used for authentication, WhatsApp notification preferences, and optional emergency contact information. Such information is managed directly between the resident and QrMyCar and is not visible to Society administrators, security guards or other residents.
• Society Managed Information: Any other information society collects (e.g., parking slot number, temporary visitor details).

Technical & Analytics Data

• IP address
• Device type, operating system, and Browser type
• QR scan logs and Usage Data

3. How We Use Your Information

For Individuals

• To facilitate communication (masked calls, anonymous messaging) between the scanner and the vehicle owner.
• No personal details are shown to the scanner. Vehicle number is masked. Phone or WhatsApp number is never revealed.
• To send reminders for Insurance & PUC expiry.
• Note: Emergency contact number will be publicly visible to everyone who scans the QR sticker if you have enabled it in settings.

For Societies

• To allow the Society to manage resident, vehicle and security guard records, and assign QR stickers to registered vehicles.
• To allow security guards to identify vehicles and contact vehicle owners through privacy-protected communication features.
• All resident information, vehicle information and society records uploaded to the QrMyCar platform shall remain the property of the Society and/or the respective residents. QrMyCar processes such information solely for providing the agreed services and acquires no ownership rights over it.
• Resident information is visible only to authenticated and verified members of the same society, and society administrators. It is not accessible to the general public.
• Society administrators are responsible for managing user access within their society account and ensuring that only authorized individuals are granted access to resident information.

Consent for Calls / Notifications

Users receive masked calls or notifications via WhatsApp only if they have explicitly enabled that setting within their account. Users can disable these settings at any time.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise monetize personal information. Data may be shared only:

• With the respective society (for society accounts).
• With trusted service providers engaged for the operation of the platform and bound by confidentiality obligations.
• If required by applicable law, or pursuant to a lawful order of a court, governmental authority or law enforcement agency (Where legally permissible, QrMyCar shall notify the Society of such disclosure requests).

5. Data Retention

For Individuals

Individual account data is retained while the account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, your data will be anonymized or deleted.

For Societies

QrMyCar shall retain resident and vehicle information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services to the Society or comply with legal obligations. Upon written request by the Society and subject to applicable legal requirements, QrMyCar shall delete or anonymize resident information within a reasonable time after termination of services.

6. Data Security

Personal information is protected using a combination of encryption, access controls, and other industry-standard security measures appropriate to the nature of the data.

Data Breach Response

In the event of a security incident affecting personal data, QrMyCar will take reasonable steps to investigate, mitigate the impact, and notify affected parties where required by applicable law.

7. Your Choices and Rights

For Individuals

Users may request account deletion by contacting support@qrmycar.in. Upon verification, personal data associated with the account will be deleted or anonymized, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

For Societies

Society residents must contact their respective society administration for correction or deletion requests.

8. Contact Us & Governing Law

Users may report harassment, spam, misuse of QR stickers, or inappropriate communication. QrMyCar reserves the right to investigate and suspend accounts involved in misuse.
